The commissioning interface has a local user 'admin'. This user can log in to the EPSherpa EMS on the local network, also when there is no internet connection. Access through the app, the portal or remote.eniris.be uses your App account instead, so the admin password does not apply there, see User management.
The first time you log in locally with the default password, the EPSherpa EMS asks you to choose a new password before you can continue. This is a security measure: the default password must not stay in use.
Keep the new password in a safe place. If the password is lost, the local login can only be restored with a factory reset, or through the portal by your distributor.
With two-factor authentication enabled, logging in to the commissioning interface requires the password and a six-digit code from an authenticator app (for example Google Authenticator or another app that supports time-based one-time passwords).
Two-factor authentication is enabled per user account, for the account with which you are logged in when you enable it:
The 2FA that you enable on your App account in the portal is separate from the controller-specific 2FA described on this page.
After a restart or software update, you may be taken back to the EPSherpa EMS login page. This page cannot complete the 2FA step for your App portal account: it has no field for that account's verification code. Signing in there with your portal email address and password therefore fails when portal 2FA is enabled.
To reconnect, return to the portal, sign in with 2FA if prompted, and open the commissioning interface again using the "Remote" button for your controller. The portal passes your already verified identity to the controller, so you do not need to enter your portal credentials on the controller login page. You can keep 2FA enabled on your App account.
If you have also enabled controller-specific 2FA for this account in the commissioning interface, the controller can still ask for its own verification code. That is a separate check and is not replaced by portal 2FA.
If you lose the authenticator app, you can no longer log in with this account. Add the EPSherpa EMS to a second authenticator app or make a backup of the app before you close the QR code page.
